StarSeer background and philosophy
When a people forgets the past,
it
ignores its roots. Benjamin Franklin said: if you do not know where you come
from, you will not know where you are going. A society that devalues studying the past, its own, as well
as that of civilizations gone before, devalues humanity and anything connected
to our collective psyche. Studying what went before us, not only puts us in
touch with traditions, appreciation for men and women who have contributed to
where we are today and what we are, for better and for worse. But we also gain
knowledge of a sense of direction, we might observe an evolution of thought,
technology and knowledge. When studying history, we observe what happens when a people
regresses, decays, we see a demise in the civilization, a decline and fall. We learn about great people who
contributed with their deeds and thoughts to our evolution of humanity, and we
also learn about men and women who thought they were great or the greatest
in their times, who might have been celebrated as heroes. Yet today they matter
not, and their names are forgotten. We gain valuable insights from such
knowledge and can apply it to consciously learn about true values,
humanity, finding our purpose. We can learn how to shape our own being, our country and our future.
Knowledge empowers, furthering wisdom. Truth
witnessed through a larger historical perspective,
leads the way to insight into our humanity, cycles of growth and decay, creation
and destruction, and progress and regress in human evolution.
Similar observations may be
applied to the individual person. Somebody who assumes his or her own past
childhood, upbringing, environment, and social consciousness are
irrelevant to who this person is today, appears as a most ignorant and shallow
person to others, -- although perhaps not to himself. Our past emotions,
experiences, actions and reactions govern a large part of present behavior.
"Know thyself" is the first thing we
need to fully learn if we wish to know what we are born for, how to fulfill what
we are here to do. This insight re-gaining popularity today, already was well
known in Antiquity: it framed the entrance portal to the temple of
Apollo, at Delphi. Socrates and Plato are famous for
communicating this beginning to all wisdom.
Throughout esoteric
traditions, the corner stone to gaining illumination has been the
learning of a simple fundamental knowledge: before all else, fully learn who you are. Learn to accept honestly who you really are, your talents
and your limitations. Remember your dreams, what inspired you. Accept that you have flaws, recognize them, acknowledge
them, forgive yourself for them...and then set out to improve yourself.
The first footprint on the moon did not happen because one American man just stepped onto
the moon: it took millions of years of evolution, thinking, creativity,
dreaming, and finally setting to work on turning a dream into reality by a
collective humanity that decided to fly would be a great achievement. After
mastering flight, it became possible to conceive of reaching the stars and
landing on the closest body to our planet, the moon. It took centuries of study, research and
engineering to achieve the dream of flight in the twentieth century. Greek
mythology tells us of the ill fated flight of Icarus, and the son of Helios who
stole his father's chariot because he wanted to run higher and faster than his
father....but he lacked the knowledge and wisdom to govern the chariot wisely
and tumbled from the sky.... The dream of flight is most anciently rooted in our
unconscious, and so is the dream of our soul to lighten up and fly closer to the
light. We sometimes forget...., but then sometimes too we are reminded of our
true purpose. That is
how miracles can happen and evolution takes place. Concentrated effort and
one-pointed intent, sharp as a laser beam.
False humility on a personal
level, is out of place: others that may depend on your very unique talents might
be deprived, if you deny your talent and fail to use it correctly: putting it to
the service of mankind. If you continually under estimate yourself and if
you do not appreciate your very real gifts that only you have to offer,
you are wasting all the potential positive contributions you came to
share: everybody has a role
to play and we need to learn to play it well.
On the other hand, blowing
yourself up like the bullfrog who wanted to appear as big as the ox, is also a
mistake: not only do you deceive yourself by living a lie and drive yourself
crazy by impossibly high standards and continual pretending: but there is
a price to pay for misplaced "bloating" and pretense, a reckoning. The toll starts out
initially as just a psychological malaise, somehow starting to doubt yourself,
your abilities, lack of self confidence for which you compensate by projecting
even more lies and more posturing. You become more hollow with each lie, the
real you shrinks inside of the balloon you continue to inflate....sooner or
later your relationships start suffering, your friends dwindle and you
develop health problems.... More importantly, others who love, trust, believe
and depend on you, will be deceived because of your self- deception.
To accept
yourself as who you really are is far more difficult as it appears: tradition,
customs, socio-economics, ethnicities and various social and cultural factors
including our parenting ...all have taught us to be something to fulfill
their various expectations. This "person" usually bears little resemblance
with the "real" you that is staring back at you from the mirror when you are
alone.

Any
report and chart issued by StarSeer is
custom made for you, based on the data you submitted. Therefore it contains
personal information.
We collect data for our own research on astrology
and various esoteric subjects. We use information found in birth charts to
help systematize the findings in this field, promoting the study and
research of astrology and other esoteric and occult studies to receive
greater recognition for their merits. An example of how arguments or
theories are tested:
ex: It
is possible to construct a database of one thousand all star athletes: by
insisting on including only subjects that have correctly known birth data, time
and location, it then becomes possible to compare this set of a thousand
athletes and analyze what some of the common features might be: what percentage
has a mars aspect in their tenth house for example? Are there any significant
sets of aspects that appear as a statistically significant number? Do we see
particularities common only to basket ball players and not in football
players? And if we see such statistically significant occurrences, can we then
construct and test out a hypothesis that given certain aspects and a certain set
of variables, people with such aspects have a talent or are likely to become
sports figures?
The
development of high technology and advances in computer resources
available to even the average non technical person allows the collection of very
complex data for astrological research that previously was quasi impossible.
With growing databases on astrological data it will become possible to use the
scientific method to test out hypotheses and theories that to our mind will
confirm the significance of astrology as an art and a science. StarSeer
hopes to contribute our findings to provide a
sound basis of scientifically documented data. We consider ourselves foremost
a research and teaching resource that uses astrology among other systems, to
help and educate people about the relevancy of such information to our culture.
